The University of Turin, also known as UniTo or Università di Torino, uses Apply@UniTo to assess most applicants with foreign qualifications. Choosing a course is only the beginning: you also need to check its academic requirements, language rules and any test or interview before completing enrolment.
For University of Turin admission in 2027–28, prepare your documents now and use the new intake’s official notices when they are published. The university’s main international application page currently displays 2026–27 procedures; those dates are not confirmed deadlines for 2027–28.
University of Turin application deadlines for 2027–28
UniTo has separate application windows for different degree levels and applicant categories. A later round may be restricted to EU applicants, equivalent categories or non-EU citizens already legally residing in Italy. Check your category before deciding that a deadline applies to you.
Keep a record of the dates for:
• The Apply@UniTo application.
• Any course test, interview or selection procedure.
• Universitaly pre-enrolment, if you need a visa.
• Final university enrolment.
• Scholarship applications and any fee-reduction request.
Check the academic year as well as the day and month. An enrolment date falling in early 2027 can still belong to the 2026–27 intake.

Choose your degree and teaching language
Use UniTo’s degree catalogue to filter by level, language, admission type and location. The current catalogue includes both Italian and English study options. For example, Area & Global Studies for International Cooperation is listed as an English-taught master’s programme in the 2026–27 offer. Check the catalogue again for 2027–28 availability.
Read the curriculum before applying. For a master’s degree, compare the required subject background with your transcript. If the course involves a different field from your previous degree, ask the programme office whether your studies meet its curricular requirements.
Also check where classes take place. UniTo’s catalogue includes locations outside central Turin, so the teaching site matters when planning accommodation and travel.

University of Turin entry requirements
For a bachelor’s or single-cycle degree, UniTo generally requires a suitable upper-secondary qualification following at least 12 years of schooling. The qualification must give access to the relevant level of university study in its education system, and additional conditions may apply.
For a two-year master’s degree, you need a suitable first-cycle or integrated university qualification and the academic background required by the programme. UniTo evaluates the qualification and its authenticity; passing a selection test alone does not complete that assessment.
If you are applying from Pakistan, check both your qualification and your course’s requirements. A friend’s admission result cannot establish eligibility for a different degree or programme.
IELTS, English certificates and MOI letters
English requirements vary by course. UniTo’s language guidance says some master’s programmes require B2 or C1 English, with the exact certificate and score listed on Apply@UniTo.
Some programmes accept an official university certificate confirming that your bachelor’s studies were taught in English. Check whether your chosen course accepts this evidence before relying on a Medium of Instruction letter. There is no single IELTS score or MOI rule covering every programme.
The current language FAQ states that Duolingo certification is not accepted. Confirm the accepted tests in the requirements for your intake before booking an exam.
For Italian-taught open-access bachelor’s and single-cycle courses, non-EU applicants living abroad who need a visa must meet the applicable Italian-language requirement. Review the current certificate rules, deadline and exemptions.
How to apply through Apply@UniTo
Start at the official portal and read the presentation page for each course you are considering. Check whether you are required to apply through the platform or fall within a published exemption.
1. Select the degree and the correct application period for your profile.
2. Read the academic, language and document requirements.
3. Complete your personal details consistently with your passport.
4. Upload the required files and complete the payment step where applicable.
5. Review the application, submit it and keep the confirmation.
6. Monitor your account and email for assessment results and further instructions.
The published 2026–27 application fee is €60 and allows applicants to choose up to two programmes. Check the 2027–28 fee and programme limit before paying. Tests or later enrolment procedures may involve separate charges.

Documents to prepare
Follow the university’s document checklist and the additional requirements on your course page. Depending on the degree and your status, prepare:
• A valid passport or other accepted identity document.
• Your school qualification or university degree.
• Transcripts and any required grading information.
• Language evidence and relevant test results.
• A CV and motivation letter for a master’s application.
• Proof of authenticity and any requested qualification-evaluation documents.
UniTo currently accepts application documents in Italian, English, French or Spanish. Documents issued in another language need a certified translation into an accepted language. Check the separate verification requirements as well.
Make the motivation letter specific to the course. Explain how your previous studies, dissertation or relevant experience prepare you for its curriculum. Name the subjects you want to study further and explain why they fit your plans.

University of Turin tuition fees
Your tuition bill depends on the applicable fee arrangement, reductions, exemptions and any additional course contribution.
For eligible students under the published 2026–27 GDP-based scheme, the standard full-comprehensive contribution ranges from €500 to €1,500, plus a €156 first instalment covering regional tax and stamp duty. Course-specific charges or exemptions may change the amount. These are reference figures for 2026–27, not confirmed 2027–28 fees.
Read the new fee regulations when available. Check how your country of residence or your family’s residence affects the assessment and whether you must submit a reduction request. Keep your MyUniTo personal details accurate.

EDISU Piemonte and University of Turin scholarships
EDISU Piemonte publishes calls for scholarships and accommodation benefits. Check the annual notice for financial and merit requirements, deadlines and the conditions attached to an award. The application is separate from university admission.
If your household has income or assets abroad, start preparing the financial documentation early. EDISU provides specific instructions for international students, including document translation, legalisation and submission. Its current system also provides a Temporary Access Code for eligible international applicants who do not yet have SPID or CIE.
UniTo has offered Talents 4 UniTo scholarships for international students entering eligible English-taught master’s programmes. The published 2026–27 call concerns that intake. Look for a 2027–28 call before assuming the same awards, amounts or selection procedure will continue.
Do not count on combining scholarships without checking their compatibility rules. Budget for initial expenses before any award is paid.

After admission: Universitaly and enrolment
If you need a study visa, follow the university’s Universitaly instructions for the correct academic year and programme. Check the current visa requirements with the Italian embassy or consulate responsible for your place of residence. Admission and Universitaly validation do not guarantee a visa.
For final enrolment, follow UniTo’s instructions for MyUniTo registration, document checks and payment. Applicants with foreign qualifications should wait for the International Students Office’s payment instructions. If your programme requires a TOLC, check that the identifying details on your result match those used by UniTo.
Questions students ask about UniTo admission
Can I apply without IELTS?
Some programmes accept other certificates or university evidence of English-medium study. Use the language requirements for your exact course to decide what evidence you need.
Does “free admission” mean tuition is free?
“Free admission” describes an open-access admission route. Tuition fees, qualification checks and other course requirements still apply.
Is a scholarship included with admission?
Funding depends on the relevant call and selection rules. Read the scholarship application instructions separately from your admission offer.
